It's been a long time

I have been so busy over the last year that I completely forgot to blog anything! Oh dear. To make up for it I am posting a ling to some of the work I did at uni in 2010, When my webste is up and running I shall update that on here as well as my work has changed a lot over 2011 2012.

My main projects in 2010 early 2011 (before baby arrived) were 'Mythologies', 'The Secret Garden' and 'Nostalgia', I hope it's of some interest, some good bits, some not so good bits :) My current projects are still under construction, but I will update the link here when I have completed it.. until then take a look at a current drawing project with performance artist Stacey Allen where we investigate the application of drawing

The times they are a changing!

It has been some time since my last post on account of the fact lots of things have changed! here is a recent overview ....moved house, left job, went of holiday, had surfing lessons, felt sick, did a test... found out I'm pregnant, started my MA course.....and have first baby scan tomorrow......and breath....
It's been a bit hectic and morning sickness has taken a hold so blogging anything fun was the last thing on my mind! I am going to start a new blog, to track the journey on the course, one task we have to do is hand in a diary of the first trimester so might as well do it all in one go. I'll put the blog link on here once I've sussed out what I need to put on it. Can't wait to get stuck in to a project and make some mess!!!

Bilbao Guggenheim

On a recent trip to the Guggenheim I got to see the work of Anish Kapoor, Willem de Kooning, Robert Motherwell, Jeff Koons (Puppy pic below), Louise Bourgeois and Robert Rauschenberg. Richard Serra has a fantastic installation in the permanent collection called The Matter of Time. What was great was the chance to look at artworks in a quiet space that was not swamped by hoards of people. I couldn't take pictures inside but the building designed by Frank Gehry was brilliant to see.

Easter posy!

Over Easter, after eating a steady flow of eggs continually for some time, I decided to treat myself to an Easter posy of pretty flowers as it's the only thing I knew I wouldn't eat! I enjoyed trying to draw the details using subtle pencil marks and came up with a pattern idea which I have started to develop in a new drawing. Here are a few experiments with colour and repetition. I quite like the repeat not being symettrical...hmmmm....more things to come me thinks...
